This website is currently under construction; however, until it's finished, you can still buy our CDs, find out about our latest concerts (our most recent was on August 21st of 2004), and contact us. Please come back soon for much more!

We're happy to make our songs available on compact disc and cassette, which you can order on our Products page. But there is a story behind the music. Read on for some personal testimony and insight into what went into the making of each album.

THERE IS A REASON

Yes, there is a reason for it all...

If only we could learn to trust God in the same way a child would trust in a father. How much easier life would be. If we could only understand that He has it all under control, that He knows every breath we take, every step we make. I learned beyond the shadow of a doubt that this is true, and when God moved in my life, and it was nothing short of amazing.

February of 1998 marked 7 years that my Husband Danny and I had been hoping for a child of our own but had not yet received an answer to our prayers. We had gone through so much physically, medically, financially and emotionally, until we were at our ropes end.

It was one evening, driving home from another Dr. appointment with another problem, that I prayed the most earnest prayer I had ever prayed in my life. I asked the Lord for peace. If Danny and I could do more for Him alone, I was accepting it. But if not, I asked the Lord to show me a definite sign.

I asked that a Godly pastor friend of ours call me that night and even tell me what year I would have the baby if that was to be so. One way or the other I would have peace of mind before the night was over with. Now I had not actually spoken with this pastor in over 2 years so I knew if he called it would be the Lord working.

We received a couple of calls that night and then about 9:00 p.m. we got a call from this special pastor. Danny still did not know what I had prayed but he told me Bro. Corder was on the phone and I just began to weep. I knew right then. Bro. Corder said the Lord had spoken to his heart in such a strong way to call Danny & I and to say, "The Lord wants you to know that through all those long nights and early mornings of pain and suffering, he was right there with you. And because you trusted in Him, He wants you to know that this year, 1998, will be the year of His favor."

That night God touched my body and healed me completely. The next month we were told we were expecting. Our baby girl Ashley was born on my birthday, December 15, 1998.

Now we have this precious gift, a daughter Ashley. I can only imagine what the Lord has in store for this little miracle. Yes, there is a reason for it all.

I waited patiently for the Lord;
He turned to me and heard my cry.

Psalm 40:1

THE ROAD LESS TRAVELED

The Encouragers journey over the span of the last 40 years has brought us many life-changing experiences, spiritual fulfillment, and even great blessings.

We have witnessed God’s majestic beauty in all the places we’ve been;

We have come to know and love many of our friends during our course;

And we have experienced tremendous joy and success in doing what we love and always desired to do.

The road has been long and sometimes weary, but in our will to trudge on, we have seen God work many wonders and miracles in our own lives and in our ministry of music.

God always gave us more grace when our burdens grew greater; He gave more strength when our labors increased; When our afflictions were great, He gave us even greater mercy; And through our trials, He gave us everlasting peace. Even so, our race has not been run and our journey continues on. There is so much more for us to work for as we travel down the straight and narrow and it will always be in our heart to help guide and encourage those traveling along the road less traveled.

A SONG IS BORN

Songwriters today have many different ideas and procedures of how to begin writing a song, and some have no plan of action at all. They simply write out of inspiration. I recently interviewed a couple of songwriters who have blessed this industry with several outstanding songs. I’ve heard many songwriters say, “1 have to write everyday,” or “Songwriters should try to write eveiyday,” but when I talked with Danny and Dee Kramer of the Encouragers who have written such songs as, “He's In The Midst,” “Look To Him,” “Lord I Need Your Touch," “A Walking Miracle,"“Just You And I” and too many more to mention, this didn’t seem to be the case.

Danny reveals, “I started writing songs when I was traveling on the road and had no radio to listen to. I would simply start with a catchy phrase or hook and by the end of my trip I had written an entire song. But since I don’t travel like that anymore, a lot of study, sermons and even certain events supply me with plenty of inspiring words and titles. “Royal Blood,” for example, was written entirely by inspiration before the Pastor finished preaching. There are three or four cases where we have written songs like that.” One such case we discovered was “He’s In the Midst,” which went to number one in the nation for three months in 1992. In addition, the song was voted “Single of the Year” by Voice magazine.

Danny tells us, “The Lord just inspired me and I wrote the chorus sitting outside in the church parking lot after service. What a blessed assurance in knowing that the Lord is in our midst. Whether we’re in a raging storm or down in a valley, it matters not. Those times when you feel completely alone, He’s standing right beside you. He is always in our midst.”

Dee adds, “I love to write something down that will stir someone the way it stirred me. I could just see Paul and Silas in that old jailhouse, after all they had been through, singing praises to the Lord. Suddenly the walls began to shake, the doors flew open and their chains just fell away. Then Paul probably looked over to Silas and shouted, 'Hold on Silas! Jesus is in the midst!' Man, that makes me just want to shout!"

Danny and Dee started writing together while they were still dating. In fact, they wrote their own wedding song, “Just You And I”, which took about a year to finish and was completed just a few weeks before their wedding date. The Encouragers have just released a brand new “Danny and Dee” song entitled “Almost Home." "This is my favorite song," Danny comments, “because I wrote it especially for my Granny who is 92 years old and one of my greatest inspirations. This song has a real country feel to it and I finally get to sing the lead part instead of Dee!”

Danny adds, “I would like to say a word to all those aspiring songwriters out there. Keep praying, believing and pushing your material to all who will listen. It is very important to send your best quality songs, not just every song you’ve written. Make sure you send a good demo and include hand written or typed lyrics. Most of all, never give up.”
